The 8th Forum on the Development of Journals of Police Universities and the 40th Anniversary Seminar of the Journal of People's Public Security University of China was held in Beijing on the 22nd.

Participants engaged in discussions on topics including "High-Quality Development of Academic Journals" and "Constructing an Independent Knowledge System of Policing Studies and Journal Topic Planning," sharing experiences in journal management and exploring collaborative mechanisms.
Over the past 40 years since its launch, the Journal of People's Public Security University of China has consistently upheld the correct editorial direction, focusing on the forefront of police theory and practice, and has become an important platform for showcasing academic achievements in policing and nurturing academic talents. In August this year, the Journal of People's Public Security University of China (Social Sciences Edition) was selected as a source journal for the CSSCI (Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index) (2025-2026), marking a major step forward in the development of academic platforms for policing studies and reflecting the academic community’s full recognition of the quality and academic influence of journals of police universities.
The meeting noted that currently, Chinese modernization and the modernization of police work have raised higher requirements for theoretical research in policing. As the main channel for academic dissemination, journals of police universities must bravely shoulder their mission, strengthen their role in leading disciplinary innovation and serving police operations, and contribute to building an independent knowledge system of policing studies.
The meeting was attended by over 100 participants, includingofficials from the China Periodicals Association, heads of journals from police universities across the country, heads of several well-known journals, as well as experts and scholars.
