School of Criminal Investigation

The School of Criminal Investigation currently has three undergraduate programs: Criminal Investigation, Forensic Science, and Public Security Audio-Visual Technology. Among these, both the Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science programs are recognized as National-Level First-Class Undergraduate Programs. The Public Security Audio-Visual Technology program is recognized as a Beijing Municipal First-Class Undergraduate Program. The School comprises 13 internal units. These include 9 teaching and research sections, a Demonstration Center for Experimental Teaching, a Forensic Science Laboratory, a Student Affairs Office, and the School Administration Office.

The School has nearly 90 faculty and staff members. This distinguished team includes: one teacher receiving the State Council Special Government Allowance; two receiving the Ministry of Public Security Special Allowance; multiple teachers recognized as Teaching Masters or Outstanding Teachers at the municipal or national public security system level; one teacher appointed as the Ministry of Public Security Invited Expert of Criminal Investigation; seven teachers recognized as the National Criminal Science and Technology Special Experts; seven selected as the National Criminal Science and Technology Young Talents; and ten awarded the title of Famous Teacher or Teaching Master by the People’s Public Security University of China. The School has appointed Mr. Cui Daozhi, recipient of the “July 1st Medal”, National “the Most Beautiful Striver”, First-Class Heroic Model of the National Public Security System, and China’s Chief Firearm and Toolmark Identification Expert, as an Honorary Professor. It has also appointed Academician Liu Yao, the first academician from the national public security system and a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, as a Doctoral Supervisor.

The School’s Forensic Science Laboratory has been recognized as both a National Demonstration Center for Experimental Teaching by the Ministry of Education and a Beijing Municipal Key Laboratory. The Virtual Teaching & Research Section for Integration of Science, Education, and Practice in Criminal Interrogation has been selected for the Ministry of Education's Virtual Teaching & Research Section Pilot Program. The Student Affairs Office was honored with the “Beijing Municipal Youth Civilization Award” title for 2020-2021. The School’s Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science Teaching Team is recognized as a National-Level Teaching Team. Additionally, two teams have been honored as Beijing Municipal Curriculum Ideology and Politics Model Teams, and one team was recognized as a University-Level Outstanding Education Team. Four courses, Criminal Interrogation, Investigation Measures, Drug Prevention and Rehabilitation, and Financial Crime Investigation—are recognized as National-Level First-Class Undergraduate Courses.
